RED.com, maker of high-end digital cinematography cameras, passed a mysterious wireless module called the RED LINK through the FCC today. FCC filings show the RED LINK module, which has the FCC ID YGA003, installed on RED’s SCARLET-X camera. Internal and external photos also show the module itself, see gallery below.
The RED LINK’s user manual indicates that the device provides WiFi connectivity in the 2.4GHz band, and also shows installation instructions (see gallery below). However, the module does not explain exactly how the RED LINK will be used with RED’s cameras.
No word yet on pricing or availability for the RED LINK.
